Ingenue

Hello ladies,

I went with a group of friends to see Alice in Wonderland this afternoon. It was delightful! I was entranced and charmed by upset teacups, magical cakes and elixers, pooling blue fabric, the heart of a toothy beast and a familiar cat transforming into mist.

When most of us think of Alice, her image evokes the color blue. I decided to create a look befitting of her time with the Red Queen. I chose Gypsy Pink from the Diamond Cosmetics Spring Collection. Despite the color name, the press release describes the shade as a soft red. I felt similar confusion and would declare red or pink depending on the light. Maybe they just should have named the polish Gypsy.

I embellished the bow and heart design from Konad plate M76. After stamping the image with white pearl special polish, I added a bright pink crystal, a shimmering sequin heart and a tiny pearl. These could be the nails of an ingenue like Alice.

Gypsy Pink has a lovely pearl finish. There are some visible brushstrokes during application, but these soften as the colors sets. I applied three coats because I was concerned with strong sun and photo magnification. I almost stopped at two coats and I believe most ladies would content after the second has been painted. I love how the pink and white shimmer add a feminine charm to the bright base.

To purchase Gypsy Pink, please visit diamondcosmetics.com. For international shipping, there is a merchant list here. My bottle of Gypsy Pink was sent to me for review.

Konad plate M76 was sent to me for consideration. Konad stamping products are available for purchase from ocnailart.com. For a chance to win the series of eight new design plates, visit the contest post to enter.

As a reminder, the For the Love of ManGlaze contest ends at the close of the last time zone March 8th.

Happy painting, ladies!

  5. Very pretty manicure. I knew you would like Alice In Wonderland. I know I will also since I loved the book. I also love anything with Johnny Depp in it. Tim Burton's movies are always fascinating and wonderful. Can't wait till it comes out on DVD.
